Seen from below, Lava Falls is the biggest and most consistently difficult rapid in Grand Canyon. Our group was lucky enough to run the rapid twice: once in the oar boat, and then again in a motor rig. We had the entire stretch of river to ourselves: our own personal amusement ride.
